Floating Top Walnut and Teak Side Table

Ready to go! [SOLD]
Today I finally got around to making the table I’ve been wanting to make for 10 years.  I found the base more than a decade ago in a dumpster outside a 1960’s office space that was being gutted in Champaign, IL (damn shame).  The base works perfectly for a “floating top” side table, and I made the table top out of reclaimed walnut ply with reclaimed mahogany edging. There are some nice details like the chisel-recess in the mahogany edge-band for the mahogany horizontal supports.  The wood is finished with Danish Oil and satin spar urethane for maximum surface durability.
